Gov. JB Pritzker was sworn in today for his second term, and he says he got big things done during his first term including balancing the budget, getting credit upgrades, raising the minimum wage, modernizing transportation systems, legalizing cannabis, and protecting reproductive freedom.

He also says the state took nation-leading climate action, instituted nursing home reforms, consolidated pension systems, provided middle class tax relief, grew the economy, protected workers’ rights, and expanded healthcare coverage.

Looking forward, Pritzker would like to make preschool education available to all families, make college more affordable, pass an assault weapons ban, and reduce the cost of healthcare coverage.
