Springfield police report a pop-up party – and an arrest – Sunday morning.

Officers were called in the midnight hour Sunday to the 1100 block of North 13th St. for a report of a pop-up party. With vehicles blocking the road, police say they saw an open bottle of alcohol and smelled cannabis in one of them. They say they later found a Taurus 9mm pistol.

Under arrest is Albin Billups, 35, Springfield. Charges are unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with no FOID card, and being an armed habitual criminal.
