Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County Board member Sam Cahnman filed a resolution to put a binding referendum on recall for the office of Sangamon County Sheriff on the ballot in April. The board will consider the following resolution Tuesday night at its meeting.

Resolution initiating and authoring a referendum to be submitted to the voters of Sangamon
County at the April 2025 Election asking “Shall the voters of the County of Sangamon provide
for the power of recall on the Office of Sangamon County Sheriff.

Cahnman, who represents the 18th District, joined Jane Cochran on the WTAX Morning Newswatch to discuss his resolution.
