SPRINGFIELD, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) — The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary Wednesday with a special reception. The event will honor two decades since the library building first opened to the public.
From 11 a.m. to noon, visitors can hear from past and current head librarians, along with ALPLM Executive Director Christina Shutt. A special photo display will showcase images from the library and its predecessor, the Illinois State Historical Library.
The library section of ALPLM opened in October 2004, offering researchers access to rare books, letters, photos, and historic documents. The museum followed in April 2005.
