Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Two teens have been charged in the shooting death of 17-year-old Dayquan Wiley. 17-year-old Larryoun Taylor is being charged as an adult and appeared in court Friday and is facing first-degree murder and home invasion charges. He remains in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for November 12th.

A 15-year-old has also been charged after being apprehended in Wisconsin last week. He also is charged with first-degree murder and home invasion, but in juvenile court. Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser says a petition will be filed to transfer him to adult court.

Wiley was shot in a home in the 1800 block of 11th Street on August 4th. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and later died at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
