About 400 people crowded into a meeting hall at the BOS Center for an informational forum  set up by the Sangamon County Board. At issue; whether construction of a CO2 pipeline can go ahead. The pipeline would cut near several communities such as Chatham and Glenarm. Residents are concerned about safety issues while union workers argued for jobs. Around 40 separate parties took to the microphone to make their case. The Sangamon Co. Farm Bureau came out firmly opposed to the project. The crowd was polite but enthusiastic with applause breaking out several times during the Q&A. The board plans to make a decision in the next few weeks.
