
Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The 18th Annual Cares for Kids Radiothon, hosted by Capitol Media Group, raised $120,700 to benefit HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital – a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. The two-day event, held Nov. 21 – 22, featured live broadcasts from 103.7 WDBR, 101.9 The Wolf, and WTAX 93.9 FM/1240 AM, with local radio personalities Blake Stadel, Dina Michaels, Mikee Connolly, Joey McLaughlin, and Sarah Smerz interviewing doctors, nurses, patient families, and donors.
Capitol Media Group Vice President and General Manager Chris Bullock praised the community’s generosity and his team’s dedication. “The stories of how many children are helped each and every year is so heart-warming. Since its inception in 2003, the radiothon has raised over $2 million for HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital. The annual event continues to bring the Springfield community and businesses together to support vital healthcare for local children and families.
