Prosecutors say two California men were hauling more than 100 kilograms of cocaine on I-55 when they were stopped last week in the Springfield area.
Facing charges are David Dowling-Chacon, 41, and Luis Dukes-Acosta, 38.
A statement from the U.S. attorney’s office in Springfield says the search and arrests came from a routine motor carrier inspection stop Aug. 15.
If convicted, the men would get ten years to life in prison.
