District 186 has announced that Friday’s football game between Lanphier and Lincoln will start later than scheduled.

The gates will open at 6:30 p.m., with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The game is significant, because it will be the first since Memorial Stadium was upgraded as part of the district-wide Our Schools, Our Future campaign, funded by a penny increase in Sangamon County’s sales tax. Voters approved that increase to pay for school construction throughout the county.

A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday.
