Demolition of five uninhabitable apartment buildings in the Olde Towne complex is on hold, despite a local judge giving the green light to raze the structures, after the lender appealed the decision.

Macy’s Inc. has announced it will be closing 66 stores nationwide, including the White Oaks Mall location in Springfield. It is the only Illinois store slated for closure, although a St. Louis-area location is impacted as the Macy’s in the South County Center is also on the list.

Scooter’s Coffee is expanding into Chatham with plans to build a new location this spring.
