Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Republicans don’t hold much sway in Illinois, but that didn’t stop State Rep Brad Halbrook from basking in the glow of President Trump and Elon Musk.

“I speak with enthusiasm and ambition as we announce the transformative step forward toward a more efficient and responsive governance system in Illinois: the formation of the Illinois Government Efficiency Caucus,” Halbrook said on the House floor Tuesday. “This bipartisan effort marks our commitment to alleviating the financial pressures of our constituents by reducing government expenditures and tackling inflation.”

When asked via text message who is in the caucus, Halbrook, a member of the Illinois Freedom Caucus, said it’s still being organized. There is already a bill which would create a Department of Government Efficiency for Illinois.
