Dozens of items, salvaged from the soon-to-be demolished former Pillsbury grain processing plant were on display Thursday evening at a fundraiser for Moving Pillsbury Forward.
Archeologist and historian, Robert Mazrim, is the curator of the project. He says the items not only have cultural significance but artistic merit as well.
Pieces of technology as well as cultural artifacts from the turn of the century to the plants closing in 2001 are displayed to allow patrons to take a trip through the history, not only of the plant itself, but of the time in which it was active.
Board member, Polly Poskin, says she’s a resident of the east side and firmly believes the future growth and prosperity of that part of the city depends on a successful reclamation of the 18-acre site.
