Dozens of canines of every description and their owners gathered in Chatham Park for the 4th annual Paws-A-Palooza. It’s a fundraising event put on by Chatham Animal Protective League to support the Chatham Dog Park. The funds are especially needed this year as the park took some damage during the late June storm that caused much damage in the area.
The highlight of the day’s events was demonstrations put on the by the world-champion St. Louis Dog Disc Club. 4 teams of dogs and their trainers amazed spectators with a wide variety of tricks, including flips, fakes, and fetches.
2 live bands provided music and over a dozen vendors were on hand with a variety of doggie products from grooming products to ‘scoobie-snacks’.
Chatham K-9 unit stopped by to visit. Giant kites were on display on a day that had been forecast for rain but nary a cloud was in the sky for the Sunday afternoon event.
