An armed robbery at The Crowne Plaza on Dirksen Pkwy. is this week’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. On Sunday around 3:30 a.m., a man around 5 foot 8 inches with a muscular build and a beard walked into the hotel wearing a white sweatshirt, brown camo pants and a mask. He approached the front desk initially asking about a room, but then pulled a gun. The suspect tied up an employee and hit them with the gun, causing a cut.
