Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A $5.5 million improvement project for North Dirksen Parkway is set to start in mid-April. According to IDOT, improvements to the section from North Peoria Road to Northfield Drive will include resurfacing, traffic signal upgrades and A-D-A improvements.

Dirksen Parkway between North Peoria Road and Terminal Road will be closed for southbound traffic for about six weeks and then the closure will switch to northbound traffic. Motorists will be encouraged to use the North Peoria Road and Sangamon Avenue detour.

The project is expected to be completed in early August.
