Auburn, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Plastics, Inc. has announced the winners of its 2025 FFA Week Food Drive Contest! During FFA Week (February 15-22), Springfield Plastics invited FFA chapters in the communities we serve to take part in a food drive contest. Northwestern High School (Palmyra, Illinois), Humboldt High School (Humboldt, Iowa), and Manchester Junior-Senior High School (Manchester, Indiana) FFA chapters were each awarded $1,000 to go to their FFA state conventions.
“We want to congratulate the Northwestern, Humboldt, and Manchester FFA members for bringing in 1,426 pounds of food for our 2025 FFA Week Food Drive Contest,” said Jennifer Furkin, President of Springfield Plastics. “We are so proud to partner with FFA chapters in this opportunity to give back. The food collected by all FFA chapters will be donated to their local food pantries.”
Other schools that took part in Springfield Plastics’ 2025 FFA Week Food Drive Contest were all from Illinois: Auburn High School, Edinburg High School, Lincolnwood High School, Morrisonville High School, and New Berlin High School. Each school received $250 from Springfield Plastics for participating in the food drive. The total weight of food collected between the eight FFA chapters was 2,995.9 pounds, nearly 500 pounds more than was raised in the 2024 FFA Week Food Drive!
