St. Louis, MO (CAPITAL CITY NOW) – Among the attractions at this year’s Illinois State Fair, starting Thursday, will be a world-famous group, for an important cause.

Anheuser-Busch says the Budweiser Clydesdales will spend a few days at the fair, appearing first at the Twilight Parade Thursday, August 7.  The appearances are part of a celebration of the company’s fifteen years of partnership with “Folds of Honor,” which gives scholarships to families of fallen or disabled U.S. Service members, and first responders.

The appearance at the State Fair is part of a nationwide tour recognizing the partnership.

Here is there schedule at the Illinois State Fair:

Thursday, August 7 at 5:30pm

The full Clydesdale hitch will appear in the Twilight Parade on the fair’s opening day

Sunday, August 10 at 4pm

The full Clydesdale hitch will appear in the Veterans’ Parade

The event will include a Folds of Honor check presentation to a representative from the organization

Friday, August 15 at 4pm

The full Clydesdale hitch will appear in the First Responders’ Parade

Following the parade, there will include a Folds of Honor check presentation to a representative from the organization

Saturday, August 16 at 4pm

The full Clydesdale hitch will parade through the fairgrounds

The event will include a Folds of Honor check presentation to a representative from the organization

The Clydesdales will be stabling across from the fair grandstand and will be available for public viewing daily until 9pm.

Anheuser-Busch says they make a 5 cents donation to Folds of Honor for every 12-pack of 12-ounce cans of Budweiser sold this year, with a maximum contribution of $1.5 million, and a 2 cents donation for all Bud Light and Budweiser Patriotic packaging sold between May 1 and July 31, totaling $800,000.
