Frontiers International Springfield Club’s 49th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast was held this morning at 8:30 at the Wyndham Hotel in downtown Springfield.

The event to celebrate and honor his legacy featured Dr. Wendi Wills El-Amin as this year’s Keynote Speaker.

Also, present were Senator Dick Durbin, Senator Doris Turner, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski, Mayor Misty Buscher, and many other pillars of our community.

The overall message shared with attendees was that diversity is to be celebrated, sought after, and embraced. Be the change you want to see in our community.

This day continues to be important because Rev. King impacted all of our lives and we can continue to strive for better.
