On January 15, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Springfield Police Department Street Crimes Unit served a search warrant in the 3500 block of Tilbury Court. Prior to the warrant being served officers were able to take the suspect into custody who had been identified as Davosia Q. Whiteside (male, 30 years old) of Springfield.

The officers conducted a search of the residence where they located 6 firearms that included a DPMS AR15style rifle, Ruger ECPS 9mm pistol, Kimber Team Match II 45 caliber pistol, Ruger SR40 40 caliber pistol, Ruger57 handgun, Canik TP95A 9mm handgun, 562.25 grams of Oxycodone, and $9,040. Three of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen from Springfield, Urbana, and East Moline, Illinois. Upon conclusion of the investigation, Devosia was transported to the Sangamon County Jail where he awaits formal charges from the
Sangamon County States Attorney’s Office.

Davosia was arrested for armed habitual criminal, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated possession of stolen firearms, and possession of firearms – No FOID.
