Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – On November 5, the Springfield Police Department’s (SPD) Pro-Active Crime Unit arrested 34 year old Tavious Spencer from Springfield, following an ongoing narcotics investigation in our great capitol city.

The SPD recently issued a media release under the authorization of SPD Chief Joseph Behl, Assistant Police Chief Ryan Leach, and Commander Jarod Maddox that detailed how a search warrant, issued and executed with assistance from the SPD’s Street Crimes Unit just two days ago, resulted in the seizure of approximately 55 grams of suspected ecstasy, 64 grams of suspected cocaine,  1,126 grams of suspected cannabis, a revolver, and a shotgun.

The search warrant also resulted in the arrest of Spencer for the manufacturing and distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of firearms without a FOID card, unlawful possession of a weapon by a gang member, as well as resisting a peace officer. That is quite the big list of charges.

Upon his apprehension, Spencer was transported to the Sangamon County Jail (SCJ) and the SPD still has yet to release any further details such as photos of the suspect and any other evidence pertaining to the investigation, that despite the recent arrest, is still ongoing.
