Springfield. IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – There’s still a little more snow to go.

The National Weather Service says two to three more inches of snow could fall the rest of Sunday.  This, after storm reports sent to the NWS Lincoln office indicate 4.3 inches of snow had fallen as of 6:00 a.m. Sunday.  Areas south of Interstate 70 are expected to total at more than a foot of snow before it all ends this evening.

A Winter Storm Warning, according to the Weather Service, will now end at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, instead of 9 p.m. or Midnight, as earlier forecasts have indicated.

Then, more cold and wind will cause blowing snow, and another Cold Weather Advisory will go in to effect at midnight Sunday night, running until noon Monday.

Wind chills later tonight could end up being 20 below zero once again.  It could also give school students another e-learning day or a cold weather day off.
