Lincoln, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The storms that moved through Central Illinois Sunday did their share of damage.

That’s according to storm damage reports submitted to the National Weather Service in Lincoln.

With wind that lasted all day Sunday both in and out of severe weather, Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport clocked a gust near 60 miles per hour. Other parts of Sangamon County clocked similar guests.

As reported already, schools in Nokomis are closed following some roof damage. But in a few cases, storms caused trees to uproot, or some branches to come down.

A funnel cloud was spotted in Macon County near Maroa, and half-dollar sized hail was seen in Christian County.

After this brief cold spell this week, highs will return to the 50’s and 60’s by the latter half of the week.
