Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The “New World Screwworm” has been in the news lately, after the insect largely eradicated made a recent comeback in Mexico, and crossed the border into Texas and now some other southern states. But, WTAX Agribusiness Director Jeff Nalley says it’s a “pest,” and not something that will affect the nation’s food supply. Nalley talks with Will Stevenson on the WTAX Morning Newswatch.
What is the New World screwworm?
It's starting to affect U.S. cattle and other animals again, but is not expected to impact the food supply.
