Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – After surviving a near drowning accident, and being resuscitated, Hayes Johnson, 2, has a lot of support coming his way. Pray for Hayes is a big music festival taking place in Chatham this weekend to Benefit Hayes Johnson. Representing the team that put this benefit festival together, Amy Fullerton and Celeste Malham, were guest on the WTAX Morning Newswatch.

Fullerton answered the question, “What kind of boy is Hayes Johnson?”

“He is almost three years old. He has a birthday coming up, and he is full life, always the kid smiling. 
He’s very, very happy, and he has the best baby brother to 3 older kids that just dote on him and love on him. He’s pretty special”

Malham goes onto explain, why this event is taking place.

“It’s been a miracle all along the way, and it’s just been truly amazing to see just the tragedy to him surviving to, you know, him just thriving now, and but it’s going to be a journey. That’s why we’re putting on this festival this weekend…we’ve recognized that this family is going to need financial support. That’s why we’d love to see everybody out there this Saturday at Spartan Sports Park in Chatham from 4 to 8 PM.”

There is also a silent auction online now. The goal, Fullerton says, is to raise as much as $100,000 between all efforts.

Fullerton says the festival is part of a new organization called “the collective,” founded this year.
