SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Fall is coming! What could possibly be better than a new best friend to enjoy walks through the beautiful leaves and cool fresh air? Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center is full of wonderful dogs just waiting to meet you.

Introducing Ellie, our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week. Ellie is about a year old and she’s been waiting to meet her new family for over a month. Unfortunately this very nice, sweet young dog came in as a confiscation. She walks nicely on a leash and sits gently for treats. Ellie is a good young dog who deserves a fresh start. Are you looking for a new best friend? Ellie is available for foster and adoption.

You can meet Ellie and all of the other dogs available for foster and adoption during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. Shelter is located at 2100 Shale St., Springfield, IL.
