SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Riverton man is wanted, three months after a local bar and its video gaming terminals were burglarized.
The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Friday afternoon an arrest warrant was issued this week for Troy W. Rathbone (pictured above), 46 on charges of Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property. He’s also wanted in an unrelated case, accusing him of Non-Consensual Dissemination of Private Images and Harassment with an Electronic Device.
More than $40,000 worth of damage was done to video gaming equipment at Mama Lee’s Sandbar on Mechanicsburg Road early July 9. Sheriff’s Department officials say the suspects broke into the bar through the front door, causing damage there as well.
Surveillance videos and Flock cameras, officials say, led to Phillip Smith, 46, Rochester, being arrested in Mid-August on charges including Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Theft; but he was released from custody under the Pre-Trial Fairness Act. Any charges filed against Smith were unavailable through electronic court records on Friday afternoon.
If you see Rathbone, you’re asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (217) 753-6666, or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427. Anonymous tips made through Crime Stoppers can be made at their website, or by using the P3 app.
