SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) – A Lanphier High School staff member is on paid administrative leave after being involved in a fight with three students, according to school officials.
Springfield Public Schools spokeswoman Rachel Dyas said the fight happened in a second-floor hallway Thursday afternoon between class periods.
The fight involved three students.
The district said school security and administrators responded to the fight. Law enforcement also responded.
It’s not clear, however, what the staff member’s involvement was in the fight.
“Fighting and aggressive behavior are unacceptable and do not reflect our expectations of respect, responsibility and kindness,” the district said in a statement to WAND News.
The district said the staff member will be on paid investigative leave while the matter is reviewed.
It’s unknown if any charges are expected.
