Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man is facing charges for the manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine and for resisting arrest. The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Drug Interdiction and Response Team (DIRT) began their narcotics investigation involving 28-year-old Jamaar M. Moore in March. Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell reports the DIRT team conducted multiple controlled buys of suspected methamphetamine from Moore totaling 330 grams.

While executing a search warrant of Moore’s residence in the 2300 blook of Austin Drive on Thursday morning around 6 a.m., the Sangamon County Tactical Response Unit located $3,500 in cash along with 366 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of cannabis and a small amount of fentanyl.  Law enforcement also seized Moore’s 2020 Hyundai sedan.

Campbell reports Moore briefly resisted arrest. No injuries were reported.

Moore was on federal probation for weapons and narcotics convictions at the time of the arrest, according to Campbell. Moore was booked on five counts of manufacture/delivery of methamphetamine, five counts of resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine (100-400 grams).
