Margaret Tinges Obituary

Margaret J. Tinges, 83, of Pawnee ll, died at 8:25 a.m. May 19th in her home with her family by her side. Maggie was born in Chicago Illinois on July 29, 1940, the daughter of Dr. James Randolph and Jane Cynthia Logue. She is survived by her two daughters Jody Connolly and Cynthia Jones (Jeffrey), three grandchildren Joseph McNear (Diane), Zackary Jones (Alicia), Aaron Jones (Maureen), and five great grandchildren Alayna McNear, Grayson Jones, Colton Jones, Logan Jones, and Riley Jones. She is also survived by her sister Judith Clayton and nieces and nephews (Joe, Jennifer & Jane) and great nephews Ben, Sam, Bodhi & Abel.

Maggie retired from Illinois Bell-Ameritech. She began as an operator, then went to the mailroom and retired from her career as a truck driver.

Maggie was known for her love of gardening, flowers, nature, and animals. She babysat & mowed lawns until she could afford her first horse in the eighth grade; Romie Sue. She always rescued horses, dogs, and cats. She only weighed about 100 lbs.; however, she was small but mighty. She also would do anything for just about anyone, always sacrificing of herself for others and lending a helping hand. Maggie was deeply loved and admired by most who knew her because of her charitable spirit & generous heart.

A private graveside ceremony will be held at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee, IL at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road, Springfield IL 62702.
