The Grand Army of the Republic Museum, located on South 7th street downtown, has permanently closed its doors.

The former curator of the museum, Chuck Hill, made the announcement through an email.

Hill says, in early March the National Woman’s Relief Corps (NWRC) made the decision to close the museum and arrangements are being made to move the collections to the John A. Logan Museum in Murphrysboro.

Hill says any questions should be directed to their website at womansreliefcorps.org.
