Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Pet of the Week is a lovable land hippo who is loved by all of his volunteer friends.

Silk is a four-year-old American Bulldog who arrived at SCAC on 2/22/24 as a confiscation.  This boy always has a smile on his face. He’s a happy, goofy boy who loves to play in the play yard and take walks. When he’s ready for a little rest to cool off he plops down in the grass and does a frog crawl. Of course, he loves treats and attention from his person. Silk is a funny guy guaranteed to put a smile on your face and bring joy into your life.

This wonderful dog has been living in a kennel for four months. He’s ready to find a family to love in a new home. Please come out to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center to meet Silk and all of the other great adoptable pets. They’re waiting to meet you Monday-Friday 10:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
