More than 110 pounds of medicine was collected by the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office as part of a Drug Takeback Day on Saturday. The sheriff’s office collected 50 pounds of prescription and over-the-counter medication over several months, and another 60 pounds was collected from the Sangamon County Health Department. The sheriff’s office says the takeback options are the best and most environmentally friendly way to dispose of medication.
