A federal jury has found the “ComEd 4” guilty on all counts today on multiple charges including bribery conspiracy and falsification of records.
The prosecution in the case argued the group engaged in a criminal conspiracy to funnel $1.3 million to ghost subcontractors who did little to no work from 2011 to 2019.
The defendants, who pleaded not guilty, include former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan confidant Michael McClain, ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore, former ComEd Lobbyist John Hooker, and former ComEd Consultant Jay Doherty.
Madigan was not present at the trial, but will face his own trial in April 2024 on multiple charges including bribery and racketeering.
