Springfield, ILĀ (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Two semi-automatic pistols, cocaine and hydrocodone were seized during a parole check in the 3000 block of South 3rd Street Tuesday morning. Springfield police report officers working with the Illinois Department of Corrections parole agents conducted the check on 32-year-old Cortez M. Gardner of Springfield.
Gardner was on parole at the time of compliance check for felony domestic battery.
A black Taurus G3C 9mm semi-automatic pistol, one Sig Sauer 9mm P938 semi-automatic pistol, four magazines and ammunition, approximately 511 grams of cocaine and 19.6 grams of hydrocodone were located and seized.
Gardner was arrested for manufacture/delivery of cocaine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of firearms-no FOID.
Gardner is currently in the Sangamon County Jail.
