Jacksonville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – UPDATE – Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson has identified the woman found deceased in a van in Jacksonville. Kathryn D. Patton Scott, 33, was found in the vehicle in the 200 block of West Beecher at around 3 a.m. According to preliminary autopsy results, the South Jacksonville woman died of multiple stab wounds.

Jacksonville police were called to the location for a disturbance, and officers found a man hiding in the bushes nearby, according to our news partners at WAND TV. Police took 43-year-old Joshua E. Jones into custody, and reported the victim knew Jones. He was placed under arrest for homicide. The case remains under investigation.
