Both Monster Pawn locations in Springfield were surrounded by crime scene tape and officers from the Springfield and Chatham police departments Tuesday morning, but it appears the activity was part of a larger investigation.
Springfield Mass Transit District is receiving a $17.8 million federal grant to purchase 12 hybrid buses that are powered by a combination of diesel fuel and batteries, along with seven buses that burn natural gas. The move is being made in anticipation of future regulations that may eventually force transit districts to eliminate all emissions.
