Springfield, IL. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has identified the man found dead in a vehicle as 23-year-old Qrrey Bates.

A homicide investigation is underway. Springfield Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man inside a vehicle on South 13th Street and Cornell Avenue Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man had been shot multiple times and was dead. An autopsy confirmed the man died from multiple gunshot wounds.
