Senior Services of Illinois has received a $30,000 donation from Home Instead, the local franchise of a nation-wide help-from-home service.

A giant check was presented to administrators of the Central Illinois provider of a variety of services to seniors at their Mason St. headquarters on Wednesday.

Carol Harms, Exec. director of SSCI, says the money will go toward the purchase of a new transportation van. The final cost for the van will be around $80 thousand and underwriting applications to make up the difference are already being prepared.

Senior Services hopes to have the new van in service by January 2024.
