Jeff Cunningham with the Springfield Animal Protective League is asking folks to be mindful of their pet’s safety and comfort during this bitter cold snap.
He says booties and sweaters are cute and can’t to any harm but offer no real protection for animals during brutally cold, sub-zero temperatures and wind-chills.
He says even large breed dogs have difficulty during these arctic-level winter days and nights.
Cunnningham says, They’re not superheroes and if it’s too cold for you its probably too cold for them.
