Almost a quarter of the way into the 21st Century, women are still at a disadvantage.
Lt Gov Juliana Stratton Tuesday introduced a statewide program called We Thrive. The idea is to build financial literacy among women by initially holding listening sessions for women around the state.
Stratton says too often, parents do not involve or educate children about personal finance, feeding into systemic problems that include pay inequity: a woman makes 82 cents to a man’s dollar.
