Springfield city council is again dealing with the homeless problem and Tuesday heard from Josh Sabo of the Continuum of Care.
“We’ve come up with a strategy board,” said Sabo. “Mayor Langfelder sits on that, the county chairman sits on that. We have representatives from local philanthropy, the faith community, people with lived experience.”
Ald. Shawn Gregory picks it up from there:
“The lived experience advisory board and the strategy board – I really hope we think about how they can work together,” said Gregory. “I think that people who have lived the homeless life and have made it out can help us form that strategy.”
The council Tuesday approved a little more than $400,000 for the Salvation Army to provide homeless services.
