Mayor Buscher and other city leaders had two major pieces of news Monday afternoon: the Red Cross shelter is moving Tuesday from the NAACP (closing at 9am) to the lower level of the BOS Center (opening at 3pm); and it may be the end of Sunday before all CWLP customers are lit up.

Chief utility engineer Doug Brown, saying the word “disaster” is an understatement, said it’s possible that of the 10,000 or so customers still without power, that 3,000 will be back Tuesday; 3,500 will be back on Friday, and 2,500 back on by Sunday. That could still leave as many as 1,000 customers out.

City public works director Dave Fuchs said spoiled food may be brought to the BOS Center or to one of two fire houses under construction: at Lawrence Avenue and Rickard Road; and to Eleventh and Ash Streets.
