Springfield, IL (wtax.com) – Springfield Police are asking for your help in identifying a suspect in a criminal damage and battery case at the Dollar General at 930 W. Jefferson St. Around 2:40 p.m. on January 30, a woman started arguing with employees after failing to show identification and being denied a purchase. The woman reportedly refused to leave and argued with employees for several minutes. The suspect grabbed an employee’s phone and left the store. One employee was injured trying to stop the suspect. Once outside, the suspect threw the phone down, breaking it and causing an estimated $1,100 in damage.
