“We’re considering switching from burning coal to burning gas,” she said. “That’s going from burning one fossil fuel to another at a time when federal and state policymakers are requiring us to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels We need to have a plan to diversify our energy portfolio by pursuing renewable sources like solar and wind right now while there’s federal and state money on the table.”
Chief utility engineer Doug Brown told the aldermen switching from coal to natural gas is at least something !!
it does reduce the carbon footprint by co2 by about fifty percent it does impact emissions it does make it better i’m not saying that’s what we want to do longterm either it’s about what is cost effective over the next 10-20 years.:
