The Springfield Fire Department is investigating a fire at a large two-story vacant house on Nicolls Road in Springfield on Monday. Crews from SFD, CWLP and Ameren assisted in extinguishing the blaze.  SFD reported multiple collapses during the fire. An excavator was brought in ensure the blaze fully extinguished and to confirm there were no casualties.
