Five high school students served as panelists at the monthly meeting of the Citizen’s Club of Springfield.

The Hoogland Center for the Arts served as host for the Friday morning event.

The topic of discussion was the present and future of Gen Z, which moderator, Springfield senior, Harrison Grey, described as folks ranging from teenagers to early 20s. (1997-2012) When asked about the future has said previous generations have succeeded and he felt his could do as well.

Southeast freshman, Natalie Harris, says the Gen Z kids are very tech based, which she says has pluses and minuses. She says they are very innovative and engaged but perhaps sometime ignored by the older generations.

All the young people volunteered in their community, from serving at their houses of worship to mentoring grade schoolers.
