Covid, the flu, and RSV make an unwelcome trifecta. Doctor Arti Barnes, chief medical officer at the Illinois Department of Public Health, says babies aged up to eight months can get an antibody shot to protect against RSV, and there is a vaccine for those who are 60 and over. She says the vaccines for seniors help protect them from hospitalization and severe RSV disease.  Barnes adds that they work “really well.” Barnes also advises everyone six months and older to get a flu shot. She says, “There’s not much flu out there now, but the vaccine takes two weeks to take full effect.”
