Springfield, IL  (capitolcitynow.com) Sixty years ago, the first Ford Mustang rolled off the assembly line, and this year the iconic car will get an Illinois commemorative license plate in its honor. Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced Tuesday that a limited number of the Mustang plates will be available until May 10th.

The license plates also highlight the Secretary of State’s Vehicle Show set for September 7th in downtown Springfield. Illinois vehicle owners will be able to display the plates on their vehicle for 60 days leading up to the show.  More information is available at the ilsos.gov.
