Springfield Police say license plate reader technology, also known as the Flock system, was instrumental in catching a Springfield man who allegedly robbed the Financial Partners Credit Union on MacArthur Blvd. Monday morning. 55-year-old Mark Patterson was arrested at the Lincoln Lodge Hotel on N. Dirksen Pkwy. Wednesday.
Right after the robbery, a witness reported seeing a black vehicle without a front license plate leaving the alley behind the credit union. The suspect reportedly left the credit union with multiple cash drawers. Cash and a firearm were recovered at the time of the arrest. Patterson is in the Sangamon County Jail facing bank robbery and firearms charges.
