The investigation in Heinz Funeral Home – Family Care Cremations in Carlinville continues, and Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says the three bodies that were removed from the funeral home on September 28th have been identified as Sangamon County residents who died during the month prior.

Allmon says since the start of this investigation, 40 sets of cremated remains have been discovered at the business. Some of the cremains were not labeled at all. To date, the coroner has received dozens more sets of cremains from families that were given the wrong cremated remains. Allmon says the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations has revoked the license of owner August Heinz.
